Senior Biologist Mark Bailey at Conservation Southeast, Inc. has over 20 years of field experience in the Southeast. For almost 10 years prior to his work with CSI, Mark was Terrestrial Zoologist for The Nature Conservancy’s Alabama Natural Heritage Program. He has extensive experience with rare, threatened, and endangered amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. Mark has written numerous Habitat Conservation Plans (HCPs) and environmental baseline reports for conservation easements. Working under contract with the Alabama Forest Land Trust, Mark prepared the Assessment of Need document for Alabama’s participation in the Forest Legacy Program. Mark serves on the board of directors of the Alabama Wildlife Federation and is website/newsletter editor for the Gopher Tortoise Council. Mark served as the herpetology committee chair for Alabama’s Second Nongame Wildlife Symposium (2002), and is the lead co-author for Habitat Management Guidelines for Amphibians and Reptiles of the Southeastern United States, a publication of Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (PARC), due to be published in early 2005.
